what style of acupuncture do you practice?

Japanese Style Acupuncture
I am happy to offer Japanese Style Acupuncture—very gentle, yet extremely effective at balancing the body’s energies and enabling the patient’s inherent ability to heal. Subtle needle techniques and palpation of the body may be accompanied by moxibustion (stimulation of points by heat) and acupressure.

Trigger Point Release / Acupuncture Physical Medicine (APM)
Acupuncture Physical Medicine (APM) is a modern approach to acupuncture that combines classics-based French-meridian acupuncture with Western physical medicine techniques, most notably trigger point dry needling. APM assessment of a patient focuses on palpation of the body for myofascial constrictions. APM draws from both Western physical medicine and osteopathy, and classical acupuncture in which a focus on meridians is central.

Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM)
Traditional Chinese Medicine, often referred to by its acronym TCM, is the most common form of East Asian medicine taught in North America. Developed in China during the 1950's, TCM drew on many classical Chinese styles and modalities to develop a standardized Chinese medical curriculum that could be taught in Western style TCM hospitals. TCM uses an analytical diagnostic methodology and is very well suited to the practice of internal medicine. The national board examinations of the NCCAOM are based on TCM style, so all acupuncturists trained in the U.S. must become well versed in TCM.
